Manage Project Types

A project type is a template that specifies the project properties and the document types that may be used in projects created of that type. You may create new project types, enable or disable project types, and delete project types. Enabled project types are available for creating new projects. Disabled project types are unavailable.

To perform the tasks described on this page, you must be assigned to the Tenant Administrator role.

Note:

The Standard Project Type cannot be disabled and should not be deleted. This project type is required for Template Management in Meridian PowerWeb.

ClosedCreate a New Project Type

To create a new project type:

  1. On the Meridian Portal Landing page, at the bottom of the navigation bar, click the Account Settings icon A gear symbol..

    The Account Settings page appears.

  2. In the menu, click Project Types.

    The Project Types list appears and shows the current project types that are available in your tenancy.

  3. In the Project Types toolbar, click New.

    The Add Project Type dialog box appears.

  4. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.

  5. Click Save.

    The new project type appears in the Project Types list. By default, the new type is disabled.

Project type options
Option Description
Name

The name of the project type as you want it to appear to users. Required.

Code

A unique code for the project type. The code will be used as a prefix for project names when they are created. Required.

ClosedEnable or Disable an Existing Project Type

To enable or disable an existing project type:

  1. On the Meridian Portal Landing page, at the bottom of the navigation bar, click the Account Settings icon A gear symbol..

    The Account Settings page appears.

  2. In the menu, click Project Types.

    The Project Types list appears and shows the current project types that are available in your account.

  3. Click the Menu icon Three blue circles stacked in a column. of the project type that you want to change.

  4. Click Enable or Disable accordingly on the menu that appears.

    The Enabled column of the project type changes accordingly.

ClosedEdit Project Type

To edit an existing project type:

  1. On the Meridian Portal Landing page, at the bottom of the navigation bar, click the Account Settings icon A gear symbol..

    The Account Settings page appears.

  2. In the menu, click Project Types.

    The Project Types list appears and shows the current project types that are available in your account.

  3. Click the Menu icon Three blue circles stacked in a column. of the project type that you want to edit.

  4. Click Edit on the menu that appears.

    The Edit Project Type dialog box appears.

  5. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the preceding table.

  6. Click Save.

    The new project type name appears in the Project Types list.

ClosedConfigure Project Type

To configure an existing project type:

  1. On the Meridian Portal Landing page, at the bottom of the navigation bar, click the Account Settings icon A gear symbol..

    The Account Settings page appears.

  2. In the menu, click Project Types.

    The Project Types list appears and shows the current project types that are available in your account.

  3. Click the Settings icon A blue gear icon. of the project type that you want to configure.

    The Project Type Settings dialog box appears.

  4. Configure the desired options and then click Save.

ClosedDelete Project Type

To delete an existing project type:

  1. On the Meridian Portal Landing page, at the bottom of the navigation bar, click the Account Settings icon A gear symbol..

    The Account Settings page appears.

  2. In the menu, click Project Types.

    The Project Types list appears and shows the current project types that are available in your account.

  3. Click the Menu icon Three blue circles stacked in a column. of the project type that you want to delete.

  4. Click Delete on the menu that appears.

    The Delete Project Type dialog box appears.

  5. Click Delete.

    The project type name is removed from the Project Types list.

ClosedExport and Import Project Types Settings

If you are a Tenant Administrator, you can use Configuration Copy Import and Export to export these settings from a tenancy and import them to another tenancy.

This feature is only available if the ConfigurationCopy feature toggle is enabled.
