Compare Document Metadata Revisions

Comparing document metadata revisions allows you to see what changes have been made to the property values between two document revisions.

To compare document metadata revisions:

  1. Open the list of documents as described in Find Documents.

  2. Click the Item ID of the document that you want to compare.

    The Properties page of the document appears and shows the property values of the latest revision.

  3. Click the History tab.

    The pane lists the actions that have been performed on the document, the packages in which it was included, and each version of the document. The activities are listed in order from newest to oldest.

    When there are more than 10 audit trail entries, the History pane shows 10 records and the More option.

  4. Click Compare.

    The Compare page opens.

  5. Select the version of the document you want to compare against.

    The document appears as selected in the Base Version section of the Compare tool.

  6. Select the version of the document you want to compare.

    The document appears as selected in the Compare Version section of the Compare tool.

  7. Click Compare.

    The property values of both revisions are shown side-by-side, with the Base Version on the left side of the page and the Compare Version on the right. Scroll the page to see the additional changes.

    • Changes made to the base revision are highlighted in orange in the compared revision.

    • Additions made to the base revision are highlighted in green in the compared revision.

    • Deletions made to the base revision are highlighted in red in the compared revision.
