Delete And Undelete Documents

You can delete and undelete documents to which you have access and that are not locked (Status is: For Approval, In Review, In Meridian) for you. Users with the Project Owner or Document Controller roles may delete documents in the Released or For Routing states. Users with the Contributor or Contractor role may delete documents in the Draft state.

ClosedDelete a Document from a Project

You must be assigned to the Project Owner, Document Controller, Contributor, or Contractor role to perform this task. If you are a contractor, you can only perform this task for your own documents.

To delete a document from a project:

  1. Open the project that contains the document that you want to delete as described in Open Projects.

  2. Choose between two options:

    • To delete a document from the Document Actions menu:

      1. Click the Actions icon Three blue circles stacked in a column. of the document that you want to delete.

      2. Click Delete document on the menu that appears.

        A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

    • To delete a document from the document's Properties page:

      1. View the document's details as described in View And Edit Document Properties.

      2. On the Properties page, click the Actions icon Three blue circles stacked in a column. of the document that you want to delete.

      3. Click Delete document on the menu that appears.

        A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

  3. Click Delete.

    The document is deleted from the project.

ClosedDelete a Document from a Package or a Share

You must be assigned to the Project Owner, Document Controller, Contributor, or Contractor role to perform this task.

To delete a document from a package or a share:

  1. Open the project that contains the document that you want to delete as described in Open Projects.

  2. Choose between two options:

    • Open the package that contains the document that you want to delete as described in View Packages.

    • Open the Quick Share the documents that you want to download as described in View Quick Shares.

  3. Click the Delete icon A blue trash can. in the row of the document that you want to delete.

    A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

  4. Click OK.

    The document is deleted from the package.

ClosedDelete All Documents on the Clipboard

To delete all documents on the clipboard:

  1. Open the project that contains the documents that you want to delete as described in Open Projects.

  2. Add the documents to the clipboard that you want to delete as described in Add Documents To the Clipboard.

  3. View the clipboard as described in View the Clipboard.

  4. In the toolbar, click the Actions icon Three blue circles stacked in a column..

  5. Click Delete documents on the menu that appears.

    A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

  6. Click Delete.

    The documents are deleted from the project.

ClosedUndelete Documents

You must be assigned to the Project Owner or Document Controller role to perform this task.

To undelete documents:

  1. Open the project that contains the documents that you want to undelete as described in Open Projects.

  2. Find the documents that you want to undelete as described in Find Documents.

  3. Add the deleted documents to the clipboard as described in Add Documents To the Clipboard.

  4. View the clipboard as described in View the Clipboard.

  5. Choose between two options:

    • To undelete one document:

      1. In the row of the document that you want to undelete, click the Actions icon Three blue circles stacked in a column..

      2. Click Undelete document on the menu that appears.

        A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

      3. Click Undelete.

        The document is restored to the project.

    • To undelete all documents:

      1. In the toolbar, click the Actions icon Three blue circles stacked in a column..

      2. Click Undelete documents on the menu that appears.

        A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

      3. Click Undelete.

        The documents are restored to the project.
