PowerWeb Slow on Simple Setup and Basic Functions
You might experience slow performance of PowerWeb Client. This issue can occur if you don’t have the Enterprise Server module installed and configured for use or if the new Client registry value DisabledFeatures is missing. This registry value was introduced in 2018 R2 and can prevent PowerWeb from attempting to connect to a Meridian Enterprise Server computer which is not configured for use.
It is not expected that these conditions cause PowerWeb slow performance if Enterprise Server is installed on a separate server and you are pointing to that server as the Computer running the Enterprise Server services in your EDM Server properties.
For this case, install Enterprise Server module or configure the DisabledFeatures registry value.
To resolve this issue, choose one of the following options:
Enterprise Server Installation
To resolve the issue:
-
Install Enterprise Server module — even if you don’t plan to use it — on the server.
-
In Meridian Enterprise Administrator, configure the Enterprise Server Address with UPN format.
-
Keep the service running.
Registry value configuration
To resolve the issue, configure DisabledFeatures registry value on the Client computers to tolerate cases where Enterprise Server functionality is not installed and/or configured for use.
To learn more about this registry value configuration, see the article HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cyco\AutoManager Meridian\CurrentVersion\Client.
