How to set an Option for all PowerWeb User Profiles

The options that control PowerWeb are stored in PowerWeb user profile files (.prf). A .prf file is a INI file containing options selected by the user, such as Site cache mode, and preconfigured options, such as EnableBaselines. See an overview of these options.

Note:

To use the tool included in this article, you need to have read/write access to the folder where the user profiles are stored.
This tool does not require any Meridian APIs or access to the Meridian .NET Interop or SDK.

To set an option for all PowerWeb users:

Download the Visual Studio project and the executable in this link.

These files implement a tool to select an option and apply it to all user profiles.
Extract and execute the files.
In the Update PowerWeb Profiles dialog, in Settings, select the option you want to set.
In Value, select the values to configure the option, according to the information in this link.
In Profiles folder:
1. Click Select.
2. Select the folder where the PowerWeb user profile files are stored.
3. Click OK.
  
  These files are stored by default in the following folder:
  
  C:\inetpub\AMM\Profiles.
Click Apply to all profiles.

Your selections are stored in the registry. When you open the executable again on the same workstation, your previous selections are restored.

The tool checks the validity of the selected profiles folder.
