How to increase the upload file size limit of Meridian PowerWeb

Background

The default maximum size of files uploaded using PowerWeb is controlled by Internet Information Services, not by PowerWeb itself. To increase the maximum allowable size, the limit must be adjusted in Internet Information Services Manager for the Meridian web site.

Description

To increase the file size limit:

  1. On the Web Access server, open Internet Information Services Manager.
  2. Navigate to the Meridian application in the Default Web Site. If Web Access was installed in a different website, navigate to the application there.
  3. Open the Request Filtering feature and change the Maximum allowed content length (Bytes) setting to the desired maximum file size.
Note:

It is not possible to upload files bigger than 2 GB in PowerWeb. An error message appears informing that the operation has been aborted.
