PowerUser menu bar disappears

Background

If you undock the menu bar in PowerUser, close, and re-open the application, the menu bar might disappear.

Description

To restore the menu bar, perform one of the following possible solutions:

  • Use the keyboard:
    1. With PowerUser open in the Main area and the menu bar invisible, press the following keys in sequence: Alt, right arrow two times, down arrow eight times (nine times if vault history mode is enabled or the vault contains work areas), Enter. This will highlight and execute the Reset Layout command.
    2. Restart PowerUser. The menu bar should be restored.
  • Delete the Layout registry key:

Making changes to the registry can have a negative effect on your system. If you are uncomfortable manually editing your system's registry, please ask your system administrator for assistance. We recommend that any keys will be removed or changed in the following steps are exported before doing so. They can then easily be restored if needed. Exporting a registry key is done by selecting the key, opening the File menu, and selecting Export.

  1. Close PowerUser.
  2. Open the Run dialog by pressing the Windows key + R.
  3. In the Open textbox, type the command regedit and press Enter. Delete the following registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyco\AutoManager Meridian\CurrentVersion\PowerUser\Layout
  4. Close regedit.
  5. Start PowerUser. The menu bar should be restored.
  • Rename the Workspace registry key:
  1. Close PowerUser.
  2. Open the Run dialog by pressing the Windows key + R.
  3. In the Open textbox, type the command regedit and press Enter.
  4. Locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cyco\AutoManager Meridian\CurrentVersion\PowerUser\Workspace
  5. Rename the Workspace key to oldWorkspace.
  6. Close regedit.
  7. Start PowerUser. The menu bar should be restored.
