How to configure and work with import packages and export packages

Accruent is gradually replacing the Meridian Enterprise briefcase feature with a new archive format called packages. Exporting packages with Meridian Explorer was introduced in release 2015. Importing packages with Meridian Explorer into a Meridian vault was introduced in release 2016. Features to view packages, create export packages, and add documents to export packages with PowerUser and the Meridian Web Client were also added in release 2016. Additional features that use packages will be introduced in future releases.

Configuring the Meridian Enterprise suite to use packages affects both the Meridian Enterprise server and the Meridian Enterprise Server computers. The steps are documented in various places in the respective Administrator’s Guides, User’s Guides, and elsewhere. This article serves as a reference to the most important places. Many additional topics can be found within the same chapters.
