Error "The server is in invalid state. Contact system administrator."

Some users might get this error in the Meridian Administration Console when restoring Meridian from the production environment (PRD) to the development environment (DEV). The following features stop working:

  • Web configuration and Explorer on the Enterprise Server

  • Web services, such as Explorer and Meridian Enterprise

To solve this issue:

  1. Navigate to the following path:

    C:\ProgramData\BlueCieloECM\Hyperion
  2. Delete the following files: DbConnectionConfig.dat and BCESLocDto.

  3. Navigate to the following path:

    C:\ProgramData\BlueCieloECM\EnterpriseServices\DbConnectionConfig
  4. Delete the DbConnectionConfig file.

  5. Restart the BCES services and IIS.

  6. Open the /BCEnterprise/config page.

    A dialog appears.

  7. Enter the location of the service and the connection to the Configuration database.
