Error "Failed to connect as an unauthenticated user"

Background

This error can occur when a user attempts to view a document after AutoVue has been upgraded to version 20.2.3.

Description

An AutoVue configuration file was not updated during the upgrade.

To prevent this error:

1. Open C:\Oracle\autovue\bin\autovue.properties in any text editor.

2. Add the following setting after the autovue.rmi.port setting:

   autovue.authentication.enable=false

3. Save the file and reload AutoVue.

If the preceding change doesn’t work, delete the following file and reload AutoVue:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Cyco\AutoManager View Control2\autovue.properties 

The file may contain obsolete settings from a prior version and will be recreated by AutoVue as necessary.
