AutoVue Installation Package for Meridian Clients

Beginning with Meridian Enterprise 2019, the client installation package no longer includes the AutoVue viewer. The viewer is still supported by Meridian but must be installed separately. AutoVue requires that a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) be installed on the PC where the viewer will be installed but the JRE must also be installed separately.

The AutoVue installation package can be downloaded from the Accruent Support Portal. AutoVue requires Java SE Runtime Environment 8 (u161 at the minimum, jvm.dll file version 25.71), which is not included in the installation package. It can be download from the Oracle website.

Note:
  • Install Meridian before installing AutoVue.
  • Install only a 32-bit JRE, even on a 64-bit operating systems. Do not install a 64-bit JRE.
  • The JRE supports automatic updates but, by default, each update is installed in a new folder and the old version is deleted. For example, if existing version 8u161 is installed at C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_161\bin\client\jvm.dll, after updating to 8u211, the existing folder is deleted and the software is then installed at C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_211\bin\client\jvm.dll. The update does not revise the Meridian JavaVMDll registry value accordingly at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE[WOW6432Node]\Cyco\AutoManager View Control2\JavaVMDll, which still points to the previous location at C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_161\bin\client\jvm.dll. The result is that the AutoVue viewer is not available anymore after the Java update. To resolve this problem, either manually update HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE[WOW6432Node]\Cyco\AutoManager View Control2\JavaVMDll to point to the new jvm.dll or run the AutoVue installation package again in Repair mode, which will find the new JRE and correct the registry value.
