AutoVue 3D FAQ

Meridian Enterprise integrates with several different viewers including AutoVue 2D and AutoVue 3D from Oracle.

Effective immediately:

  • Accruent, LLC will no longer resell AutoVue 3D licenses.
  • The AutoVue 2D and AutoVue 3D integration implemented in Meridian 2021 R2 will remain available but we no longer test or maintain it.

Following are answers to some common questions:

Why is Accruent making this change?

We are always looking for opportunities to simplify our business model to make it easy for our customers and partners to do business with us. After a thorough review, we decided that our customers who require use of AutoVue 3D are best served purchasing the required licenses directly from Oracle or their resellers. The AutoVue 3D integration implemented in Meridian 2021 R2 will remain available but we no longer test or maintain it.

What will happen to my current AutoVue 3D licenses if I upgrade to a newer version of Meridian?

If the new version of Meridian supports the same version of AutoVue 3D as your current licenses, then the viewer will continue to work. If the new version of Meridian only supports a newer version of AutoVue 3D, then you will need to purchase AutoVue 3D licenses for that version from Oracle or their resellers and install the software. What will happen to AutoVue 2D support?

AutoVue 2D licenses, software distribution, installation, and technical support from Accruent is described in the AutoVue 2D FAQ.

Will Meridian Enterprise continue to support integration with AutoVue 3D?

The AutoVue 3D integration remains as-is, but we no longer test or maintain it. For the current state of AutoVue 3D support, see Oracle AutoVue in the version of Accruent Meridian Enterprise Supported Software that corresponds to your version of Meridian Enterprise.

Note:

The file format coverage of AutoVue is not supported in Meridian Portal. Use PDFTron when sharing markups with external partners through Meridian Portal.

I have Meridian Enterprise 2017 or prior with AutoVue 3D licenses from Accruent and I want to continue using it. What do I need to do?

Nothing. All existing licenses will remain valid for the version of AutoVue 3D that was installed by the Meridian Enterprise setup package. To find out if your version is supported, see Oracle AutoVue in Accruent Meridian Enterprise 2017 Supported Software.

I have Meridian Enterprise 2017 or prior and I want to add AutoVue 3D licenses. What do I need to do?

  1. Purchase all future AutoVue 3D licenses from Oracle or their resellers.
  2. Provide proof of purchase to your Accruent Partner or Accruent Account Representative in exchange for the equivalent Meridian license codes.
  3. Register the license codes in the Meridian license server as described in Registering licenses in the Accruent Meridian Enterprise Server Administrator's Guide.

I want to upgrade to Meridian Enterprise 2017 SP1 or later and I want to continue using my AutoVue 3D licenses. What do I need to do?

Download the AutoVue 3D software from Oracle and install it with the instructions that are provided with your version of Meridian Enterprise. The Meridian 2017 SP1 or later license server will not accept or manage AutoVue 3D licenses, so you do not need to register any licenses. Your existing AutoVue 3D licenses from Accruent entitle you to continue using the software.

I have Meridian Enterprise 2017 SP1 or later and I want to add more AutoVue 3D licenses. What do I need to do?

  1. Purchase the additional AutoVue 3D licenses from Oracle. The Meridian 2017 SP1 or later license server will not accept or manage AutoVue 3D licenses, so you do not need to register any licenses in Meridian.
  2. Download the AutoVue 3D software from Oracle and install it with the instructions that are provided with your version of Meridian Enterprise.

I have Meridian Enterprise 2017 SP1 or later and I want to start using the AutoVue 3D viewer. What do I need to do?

  1. Purchase AutoVue 3D licenses from Oracle. The Meridian 2017 SP1 or later license server will not accept or manage AutoVue 3D licenses, so you do not need to register any licenses in Meridian.
  2. Download the AutoVue 3D software from Oracle and install it with the instructions that are provided with your version of Meridian Enterprise.

Can I upgrade to a newer version of AutoVue 2D or 3D than is supplied with my version of Meridian Enterprise?

Can I use AutoVue 3D with the AutoVue rendering module in Accruent Publisher?

  1. Purchase additional AutoVue 3D licenses from Oracle or their resellers.

Will Meridian Enterprise continue to support both AutoVue deployment methods, desktop and client/server?

Yes. The Meridian Enterprise setup package installs AutoVue as a desktop deployment by default. Deploying it as a client/server configuration is described in the Accruent Meridian Enterprise Administrator's Guide.

Can I purchase AutoVue 2D licenses from Oracle for use with Meridian?

Yes. If you require additional AutoVue 2D licenses:

  1. Purchase additional AutoVue 2D licenses from Oracle or their resellers.
  2. Provide proof of purchase to your Accruent Partner or Accruent Account Representative in exchange for the equivalent Meridian license codes.
  3. Register the license codes in the Meridian license server as described in Registering licenses in the Meridian Meridian Enterprise Server Administrator's Guide.
