AutoCAD Rendering Error "AmAcad.arx is not loaded"

Some users might get the following error message in the rendering log when trying to render with AutoCAD:

An error occured during rendering by "Autodesk AutoCAD" (Autodesk AutoCAD): AmAcad.arx is not loaded.

This occurs in the following scenario:

1. After installing or upgrading to a newer version of AutoCAD on the machine used for rendering, AND

2. The machine already has a Meridian installation.

Cause

The order of installation causes this issue. The Meridian installer is supposed to write the following registry key when detecting the existence of the AutoCAD installation during Meridian installation:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R23.0\ACAD-2001:409\Applications\AMAcad

This cannot occur if the installation of AutoCAD, or a later upgrade of it, occurs after installing Meridian.

Solution

To solve this issue:

• On the rendering machine, run the Meridian Server installer again, in the repair mode.

  The installer writes the registry key.
