License

You can view information about your Meridian Cloud subscription at any time from within Meridian Portal.

To perform the tasks described on this page, you must be assigned to the Tenant Administrator role.

There are two key metrics on this page:

  1. Number of User Passes

  2. Number of Licenses

This might also be referred to as the number of subscriptions.

A User Pass could be compared to a security badge which provides access to a room. In contrast, a License could be compared to the occupation limit of the room. Say, for instance, you have 70 employees that have security badges and a room which can accommodate 30 people. If one employee leaves the room, another can enter the room in their place if they have a security badge. But there can never be more than 30 employees in the room at a time. The other 40 employees must wait until someone leaves the room before another will be allowed to enter.

So, if you have 70 user passes and 30 licenses, this means that while 70 employees have login credentials to Meridian Cloud, only 30 of them can be logged in at any given time.

It is possible that the number of logged-in users may temporarily exceed the number of licenses you have. However, this is outside the license terms, and you will need to purchase additional licenses.
