Configure Role Assignments For Master Documents

Master documents reside in the Masters branch of Cloud Explorer and are synchronized with the Masters view in Cloud Explorer. User access to master documents is usually restricted per region or plant. Role assignments for master documents can be assigned per specific region and plant.

To perform the tasks described on this page, you must be assigned to the Tenant Administrator role.

To configure master document role assignments:

  1. On the Meridian Portal Landing page, at the bottom of the navigation bar, click the Account Settings icon A gear symbol..

    The Account Settings page appears.

  2. In the menu, expand Role Assignments, and then click As-Built.

    The As-Built list appears and shows the groups assigned to each role and hierarchy in the Masters branch.

  3. To assign roles based on a different location:

    1. Select the location from the Assignment Type list in the header.

      A dialog box opens, asking you to confirm your choice.

      You can select the Global, Region, or Plant hierarchy level

    2. Click Yes.

  4. To edit the groups that are assigned to the roles:

    1. Click the Edit icon A blue pencil icon. in the row of the assignment that you want to edit.

      The Edit Role Assignment dialog box appears.

    2. Choose one or more of the following options:

      • To add a role assignment:

        1. Click the Add icon A blue circle with a blue plus symbol in its center..

          A list of the unassigned groups appears.

        2. To find a particular group by name, type part of the group name.

          The list updates to show only the groups that contain the typed letters.

        3. Select a group in the list.

          The group is added.

      • To delete a role assignment, click the Delete icon A blue x. next to the name of the group that you want to delete.

        The group is removed.

  5. Click Save.

    The assignments are updated in the list.
