When a document contains information about an asset that also resides in the repository, it can be convenient to link them. This makes it easier to find additional information about the asset and to see the assets that might be affected by changes to the document.
To perform the tasks described on this page, you must be assigned to the Asset Linker, Asset Editor, or Asset Manager roles.
To link assets to a document:
- View the list full-screen of the items (if any) that are already related to the document as described in View Related Items.

In the list header, click Link Asset(s).
The Link Assets dialog appears and lists all of the available assets.

Select the assets that you want to link to the current document.
Specify values for the Asset Number, Type, and/or Description filters as described in Find Items to shorten the asset list.

Click Link Assets.
The selected assets are added to the Related Assets list of the current document.
